GCSE/SAIG Young Researchers Workshop 2002

In conjunction with the First ACM SIGPLAN Conference on
Generators and Components (GCSE/SAIG'02), Pittsburgh, PA, October 6-8, 2002

This call is of special interest to people who have
recently started their career in the domain of generative
and componentbased software development (the "young
researchers"). We would like to encourage contributions
from PhD students, p ostdocs,and practitioners in industry.
The topics of the workshop are:
  - Component-based software engineering: Reuse, distributed
    platforms, distributed systems, evolution, analysis and
    design patterns, development methods, formal methods
  - Product line engineering: Architectures, scoping, domain
    analysis, product line implementation and testing,
    variability
  - Generative programming: Reuse, meta-programming, partial
    evaluation, multi-stage and multi-level languages
  - Runtime code generation, compilation, active libraries,
    synthesis from specifications, development methods,
    generation of non-code artifacts, formal methods,
    reflection
  - Separation of concerns: Aspect-oriented programming,
    intentional programming, and multi-dimensional separation of
    concerns
  - Integration of generative and component-based approaches
  - Domain engineering, analysis, and languages

Aims and Objectives
===================
After the great success of the 3rd GCSE Young Researchers
Workshop this workshop which is traditionally held in con-
junction with the GCSE (http://pli2002.cs.brown.edu/GCSESAIG/)
aims again at providing  a platform for young european
researchers to present their work.
These presentations will be commented by experienced panelists.
The workshop serves as a forum for the participants to get
in contact with other researchers in the field and to become
familiar with other approaches and future research topics.

Submission Guidelines
=====================
Potential participants are asked to submit a short paper in
English. It must be no longer than 2500 words or five pages
(including figures, tables, and re ferences).
Format the paper according to the GCSE/SAIG instructions
(http://cs-www.cs.yale.edu/homes/taha/gcse-saig/cfp02.html)
and submit your paper in either Postscript
format or PDF. The submission should be classified according to
the progress of the work, e.g. third year's PhD work. All
submitted papers will undergo a review process by a panel of
renowned experts. All accepted papers will be published as
downloadable versions on the home page of the GCSE/SAIG
Young Researchers Workshop 2002.
The number of accepted papers is limited to ten. Papers should be
send by e-mail to Stefan Hanenberg (shanenbe@cs.uni-essen.de).
Authors of accepted papers have to present their work during the
workshop. Afterwards the presenter receives additional comments
and hints from the members of the review panel.
